OUR CLIENTS

Bethany and Rufus Roots Quartet
Roots, Folk, Acoustic, World

Individually all of the members of the group {Bethany, Rufus, Bonga, and Yacouba} have been instrumental in expanding the role of traditional forms in their respective musics. It is with this background that they have come together to create a sound that although based around the song forms of American traditional music reaches back to a common root that has inspired everyone involved.

Polarity/1
electronica, alternative, experimental

The music of Polarity/1 is exactly what the name suggests: conjoined opposites -- a mash up of new: cutting edge electronica/hip hop/nu-jazz and old; roots music of America (blues, funk, country, early jazz), Brazil (samba, pagoda, etc.) and West African groove science. Polarity also describes the dual streams of Polarity/1's musical output: songs and instrumentals.

SoulSpill
rock, alternative, grunge

SoulSpill's enticing blend of alternative and grunge music is sure to make a mark on the modern rock scene in the years to come. Even with the debut of the band's first batch of singles, the members of SoulSpill have proven themselves, not as hopeful newcomers to the music industry, but as already experienced musicians finally directing their individual passions toward success as a group. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and efforts are proving worthwhile in making a mark within the music world.

Rachel McDonald
electronica, alternative, experimental

Rachel McDonald is not only an extremely talented singer and songwriter; she's a woman on a mission: bringing soul back to urban music. Her musical message is quite clear: we need to get back to basics and put the emotion, the soul back into music. She is a messenger for this cause and wants her debut record to exemplify it. She brings a passion and intensity to R&B music that is long, long overdue and her album echoes that theme. Rachel McDonald is blazing a path of intensely emotional, soulful music, a path other artists might be wise to follow.

Susan Barth
pop, alternative, acoustic

All it takes is one listen to singer/songwriter Susan Barth's music and you'll be both delighted and captivated by it. With a retro songwriting style and a voice described by the International News Agency as "sultry and sensuous, imbued with sincere emotions and a refreshing rebellious flair," she's at the top of her game. Susan Barth has carved a place for herself in the genre of Adult Contemporary music that recalls the glory days of 60's and 70's pop music. When asked, she describes it as "Retro - Melodic Pop with a sad side".

Koko Dozo
urban globalectronica, teksoul

Koko Dozo is a duo of legally alienated New Yorkers -- Polarity/1 and Amy Douglas -- who create a sound they call Global Funktronica: a unique blend of electronica, funk, club grooves, jazz and roots grooves from Brazil, Latin America and Africa. Their lyrics are hilarious, provocative, and powerful, sung in English, Spanish and Portuguese, supported by music that is truly otherworldly, rich, textural and extremely funky.

Kobo Town
calypso, world, reggae

Kobo Town is a Toronto-based group whose music draws its inspiration from traditional calypso, roots reggae and dub poetry. Named after the vibrant and turbulent neighbourhood in old Port-of-Spain where Calypso was born, the group strives to recover the social conscience, satirical storytelling and strong acoustic/organic rhythms that characterized Trinidadian music in the past.
